Evelyn "Lynn" Herman
April 14, 1931 ---- January 14, 2020

Evelyn Herman 88, died Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Albert City. Funeral Services will be at Fulton Lutheran Church, Roelyn, on Sunday, January 19 at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at Fulton Lutheran Cemetery, Roelyn.

Lynn is survived by her husband of 72 years, Orval; daughters, Jeaneyl Hazlett of DeSoto, Mo, Katie (Chris) Cleveland of Storm Lake, IA, Sheryl Milton, Fresno, CA, 3 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Ellen (Quasdorf) Rockow and brother, Darwin (Dodd).

Evelyn Lola Rockow was born April 14, 1931 Dows, Iowa. Lynn graduated from Hansell High School, Hansel, IA and attended Illinois State University, Normal, Ill, for two years. Lynn also attended Radio School in Omaha, NE. Evelyn was united in marriage to Orval Herman at Julesberg, CO, on January 25, 1948.

Lynn worked for the Engineering Department of General Electric in Fort Wayne, IN; wrote commercials for Orval that were aired on the radio station in Fayette, AL; worked for State Farm Insurance as a legal secretary, Bloomington, IL; and worked in the Iowa Central Community College Bookstore, Fort Dodge, IA.

Lynn was a member of Fulton Lutheran Church, Roelyn; Fulton Lutheran Woman of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Lynn held offices in the Fulton Women’s group, taught Sunday School and Bible School, served on community fundraisers for several years, and Fulton Lutheran Recording Secretary.

Lynn enjoyed card clubs (Bridge and 500), camping, traveling, quilting, gardening, playing the piano, singing, biking, golfing, making sugar cookies with her daughters and grandkids, cooking, and her beloved cats (Ricky and Rosie).

Memorials may be left to the discretion of Evelyn’s family.
