Richard Kenneth Albee, the son of Aaron and Minnie Jones Albee, was born on March 12, 1900 at Hardy, Iowa. He died early Tuesday morning, March 31, 1981, at the Rotary Ann Home in Eagle Grove, Iowa, at the age of 81 years and 19 days.

He attended school at Hardy and grew up there. In 1919, he joined the U. S. Navy and served until 1921. He was married to Edith Mayberry of Bloomingame, Mo. in 1925. They farmed near Hardy a few years and in the early 1930's the family moved to Eagle Grove. He was employed at various places and in the later years of his life, he was employed at the George McCart farm for 11 years and also worked as a carpenter with Glen Nickell. Kenneth had been a resident of the Rotary Ann Home since October, 1980. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge No. 68 and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles.

Kenneth is survived by a daughter, Betty Webley of Des Moines; his sons, Curtis Albee of St. Maries, Idaho; Winton Albee of Hermiston, Oregon; 6 grandchildren; two sisters, Audrey, Mrs. Paul VanArsdale, Roseburg, Oregon; Elva, Mrs. Buck Winters of Hermiston, Oregon and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Leon Albee, who died in 1948, a daughter, Avis Albee and a brother, Wayne Albee.

Funeral services for R. Kenneth Albee, were held on Friday, April 3, 1981 at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove. Rev. Don Callen, church pastor, officiated and burial was in the Glenwood Cemetery at Goldfield. The presentation of the American flag in his memory was made at the gravesite. Visitation was held at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home on Wednesday and Thursday.

Mrs. Zelda Martin, Mrs. Pauline Jones, Mr. and Mrs. Raynard Jones, Mr. and Mrs. Francis Jones, and Mr. and Mrs. Orvel Griffith attended the funeral services for Kenneth Albee at Eagle Grove Friday.
