Carl Fredrick Guse, 90, of Iowa Falls died at his home Saturday (June 29, 1985) of a heart condition. Funeral services were held Wednesday (July 3, 1985) at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Iowa Falls with burial in the Fairview Cemetery at Dows.

Mr. Guse was born March 23, 1895 at Anchor, Illinois to Carl Herman and Claudia Beckman Guse. He moved to this area in 1926, later moving to Iowa Falls to make his home. For 20 years he was employed by Payless Cashway Lumber.

On November 3, 1928 he was married to Florence (Rose) Guse at Webster City, Iowa. Mr. Guse was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ in Iowa Falls, of the I.O.O.F. and Rebekah Lodges, Hyman-Peavey Post No. 188 and he served in the Army during World War I.

Survivors include two daughters: Edith Kreamer of Iowa Falls and Dora Mumper of Waterloo; two sons: Melvin , Waterloo and Howard, Boone; a daughter-in-law, Joyce Guse of Cedar Rapids; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild and one brother, Otto of Colfax, Illinois.

Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife Florence, a son Harry, three sisters and a brother.

Linns' Funeral Home of Iowa Falls was in charge of arrangements.
