Memorial services for Peter James Paulsen. 77. were held from the Willim Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, June 12 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Terry Palmer officiating. Burial was in the Dows Fairview Cemetery. Mr. Paulsen died Friday, May 21, at the Porter Memorial Hospital in Valparaiso, Indiana after a short illness.

He was born in Sheffield, Illinois on November 1, 1904 and was the son of James and Elisa Lorensen Paulsen. He came to Dows at an early age where he was raised and educated and graduated from the Dows High School in 1924. After graduation, he was employed by an Implement Dealer in Iowa Falls until 1937. He worked for Weaver Construction during World War II and in 1950 worked for Century Engineering in Cedar Rapids as a welder. He retired in 1971 and lived in Marion. Iowa.

He was a member of the American Aeronotics Machinists Association.

Surviving are two children; Mrs. Daro (Sondra) Taber and James Lee, both of Valparaiso, Indiana. Also surviving are six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, one brother, Clarence of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and a sister. Mrs. Nellie Benton of Eagle Grove.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
