Final Rites for Mrs. Lillian Patterson Held Here May 26

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the Streit Funeral Home for Mrs. Lillian Patterson. Rev. William Nelson, pastor of the local Presbyterian church, officiated.

Mrs. F. E. Grant and Mrs. Robert Hunter were in charge of the foral tributes.

Casket bearers were F. E. Grant, Dr. L. M. Graham, D. J. Spencer, R. G. Hunter, C. B. Chapman and Clarence Ogden. Burial was in the Clinton-Garfield cemetery with the Streit Funeral home in charge.

Lillian Keister Patterson was born at Waverly, Ia., on April 24, 1867, and died at the Carroll Nursing Home, Carroll, Ia., on May 23, 1959.

She was married to Clarence M. Patterson on June 1, 1899. Two children, a daughter, Bess, and a son, Owen, were born to this union. The family lived in Gilmore City for a time and then moved to Rolfe.

Mrs. Patterson was active in church and community activities. She was a member of the Presbyterian church where she was a Sunday school teacher for 30 years and was active in women's work, having served as president of the Excelsior Society. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the Woman's Club.

Mrs. Patterson is survived by her daughter, Bess Burgess of Ames, Ia.; one granddaughter, Joan Burgess Mueller of Chicago, Ill., and two great-grandchildren. Her husband; her son, Owen Patterson, and one grandson, Jack Patterson, preceded her in death.

She will be well remembered as a loving and wonderful mother.

Her well marked and worn Bible symbolizes her life of faith.
