Little Doris Keister Laid To Rest Thursday

Doris Eileen Keister came to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Mack Keister on May 18, 1931, and left to be with Jesus November 11, 1931. At the age of five months and twenty-four days.

Even though she is gone away, the brightness of her life remains in the memory of her devoted mother and father and other relatives. Her little life just budded on earth that it might bloom in heaven, free from chilling winds and blight.

Funeral services were conducted at the Baptist church by Mr. and Mrs. Ira D. Halvorsen. Four girls, Elizabeth Roulet, Evelyn Warner, Marian Nelson and Margie Cleveland, accompanied by Mrs. C. H. Scott, sang very sweetly. Mrs. Halvorsen brought the message.

The beautiful floral offerings expressed the love and sympathy of relatives and friends. Interment was made in the Goldfield Glenwood cemetery.

Relatives attending the funeral from out of town were: Mr. and Mrs. Ed Comstock, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Johnson of Eagle Grove; Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Griffen and two children of Sac City; Mrs. Waddle of Fort Dodge, Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Griffen of Algona and Eddie Bigness of Corwith.

Only a little stranger
Tarrying but for a day
Scattering beams of sunshine
All along my way.

Now my mission’s over
Done my work of love
Back again to Jesus
To my home above.

Though we now are parted
Grief will soon be done
I’ll wait here in heaven
Till my loved ones come.
