Wendell R. Reichter was born on March 13, 1921 to Walter and Ethel (Vest) Reichter at Goldfield, Iowa. He attended Goldfield Schools and graduated from Goldfield High School in 1938. On March 15, 1941 he was united in marriage to Bernice Keen at Thor, Iowa. Together they farmed the family farm where they lived until he retired and moved into town at Goldfield, Iowa. He has served as a 4-H Leader for 10 years and on the County 4-H Committee. Wendell also served as a member of the Goldfield Elevator Board and was a member of Farm Bureau. He was also a life time member of the United Methodist Church in Goldfield.

He is survived by his wife, Bernice of Goldfield, two sons, David Reichter and his wife Chery of Elkader, Iowa and Dean Reicher and his wife Jackie of Hardy, Iowa, two grandchildren, Brian Reichter of Elkader, Iowa and Deanna Kain and her husband Brad of Norfolk, Nebraska, one sister, Lorine McCutcheon of Goldfield, Iowa and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
