After a long siege of illness, Mrs. E. S. Beck one of our oldest and most respected citizens, passed from this life Friday morning to the great beyond. The end was not unexpected, her health having been failing for several years. A cancer, combined with infirmities of mature age, caused her to be a blind and helpless invalid during the last months of her life, but patient and kindly under her affliction. Her many friends will keep as a memorial of her life with them the memory of an unassuming Christian character, faithful to her friends and her family.

Her husband and three sons, Will, John and Bert, and their families have the sympathy of the community in their bereavement.

The funeral was held in the U. P. church Saturday afternoon, Rev. Irvine, assisted by the pastors of the other churches leading in tbe services. Beautiful floral tributes from relatives in New York state were received. Burial was at Glenwood cemetery.
