GOLDFIELD GARNERINGS

Died, at his home west of Goldfield, June 17, 1893, Merritt Belknap aged 15 years, after a sickness of but two days. It would seem that the Reaper gathers the fairest and freshest flowers, but He knows best. "He liveth long who liveth well." Measured by such a standard, Merritt has indeed finished a life's task.

Because of his manly, gentle nature he endeared himself to his associates at home and abroad. May those who mourn the loss of this young life receive the comfort they so sorely need.
