Mrs. Janson Dies; Rites at Clarion
KANAWHA - Mrs. Hjalmar Janson, 70, was buried in Norway Township Cemetery. Funeral services were conducted at St. John's Lutheran Church. The Eyler Funeral Home, Clarion, was in charge. The Rev. Perry Sampson was in charge.Mrs. Janson had suffered a severe stroke on Dec. 10, 1954, from which she never recovered. She had been cared for in her home since that time.
Anna Enge, the daughter of Thomas and Enger Enge, was born Dec. 14, 1885, near Cambridge and moved with her parents to Wright County in 1888. She attended Ellsworth College in Iowa Falls and taught in rural schools for several years. In 1905 she was married to Hjalmar Janson. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary last year. Surviving are her husband; five sons, Kenneth, Eagle Grove; Harley, Thornton; Eldon, Gravity; Joel, Clarion and Edgar, Kensett; three daughters, Mrs. John H. (Marjorie) Holtzbauer, San Diego, Calif.; Mrs. W. C. (Evelyn) Leffingwell, Belton, Mo.; and Mrs. R. L. (Anna Elaine) Kane, Westgate; 24 grandchildren and two brothers, Alvin Enge, Corvallis, Ore., and Joseph Enge, Oxnard, Calif.
