Memorial Services For Earl Agard
Among the early pioneers of Wright county will be found the names of a Civil war veteran, Clarence Agard and his wife, Mrs. Amy (Gray) Agard. On Thursday afternoon, December 13, 1928, at the Church of Christ in Goldfield, services were held in honor of the memory of their youngest son, Earl E. Agard, who was born in Goldfield on November 12 [13], 1887, and died in Cedar Rapids on Tuesday, December 11, 1928.
Until the death of his mother last June, Earl made his home with her, and will be remembered by those who knew him best as a kind and loving son. When his health permitted Earl was always busy at his trade as a painter.
Since the death of his mother he had been employed first at Battle Creek, Mich, and later at Cedar Rapids, Ia. He was a man whom everyone liked. It was always a pleasure to meet him. He made friends quickly and held them closely ever afterwards. All who knew him unite with his loved ones in mourning his death. He leaves to mourn him one sister, Mrs. Florence Sherman of Eagle Grove and two brothers, Claude of Eagle Grove and George of Goldfield. His parents and his two oldest brothers, Carl and Harry preceeded him in death Carl in 1904, and Harry in 1918.
To Earl all we can say is
Sleep on beloved, sleep, and take thy rest,
Thou shall wake no more to toll and weep,
Thine is the perfect sleep, sincere and deep.
We loved thee well. Goodnight, Beloved, Good nightEagle Grove Eagle
