Edwin "Ed" Bakken
January 12, 1970 --- May 20, 2020

Edwin “Ed” Eugene Bakken, II, died on Wednesday, May 20, 2020. Visitation will be on Tuesday May 26th, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Boman Funeral Home, in Webster City, due to Covid Restrictions, only 10 people will be allowed in the funeral home at a time. Graveside Service will be on Wednesday, May 27th at 10:00 AM at Graceland Cemetery in Webster City, Please observe social distancing.

Ed was born on January 12, 1970 in Ames Iowa to Edwin and Edna (Adams) Bakken. He attended the Webster City Schools graduating in 1988. Right out of high school he went to work for Hellers Carbonic until they relocated in 2005. He then worked for Eagle Manufacturing, Swine Graphics and Prestage Family Farms.

Ed married Amy Carpenter in 1990, the couple had one Child Jesse Lee; they later divorced. In 1995, He married Janine Long, Nathan and Cydney were added to the family before they later divorced.

Ed was a member of the Brushy Creek Fishing Association, Boy Scout Troup 17, a Scout Master for six years and an Avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed the Hamilton County Speedway on Saturday nights. He especially enjoyed time with his grandbabies.

Ed’s family includes his children: Jesse of Webster City, Nathan (Josi) of Fort Dodge, and Cydney of Webster City; four grandbabies: Chloe & Collin Bakken, and Kaisyn & Kyndra Long; three sisters: Mary (Bob) Hisler of Woolstock, IA, Ann (Mike) Hilpipre, of Webster City, and Clarette (Dewayne) Sprecher of Clarion, IA; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Kenneth “Bub” McConnell and Rusty McConnell; and one sister Sonja Ford.
