Mike Knutson, 66, died at his home on North Wright Street at 6:15 Wednesday evening. He has been ill wlth cancer trouble for about a year. He was a very sick man for the past several days.

He is survived by one brother, Ben, who lives on North Montgomery Ave. The Knutson Brothers were both born in Norway, and came to this country together and settled in Eagle Grove in 1887 and this has been their home since that time. Neither brother married and both maintained neat, comfortable homes. They have no near relatives in this country. Mr. Knutson was employed by both the Northwestern and Great Western railroads at various times.

Obituary of Mike Knutson

Ole Mickel Knutson was born to parents Knut and Herborg Kvernenes, Nov. 28, 1867, at Kvernenes, in Sveen, Sendhordland, Norway, and died in his home on N. Wright Ave., Eagle Grove, July 25, 1934, at the age of 66 years, 7 months and 27 days.

He was baptized into Christ in infancy, received instruction and confessed his Christian faith in the Sveen church.

He came to America, to Eagle Grove, April 1, 1887, and has lived here since.

He leaves to mourn his departure, one brother, Bendich (Bendik) Knutson. Mike Knutson was an unmarried man of industrious and frugal habits. He was very quiet, tending strictly to his own matters. Friendly, kind and congenial.

It was my privilege to minister to his spiritual needs before he passed away, for which he was very thankful.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon from the Kubitschek & Kastler funeral home, and from the Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran church.
