Madel (Mike) Sigurd Knutson was born April 22, 1900, to Erick and Selle Knutson at Eagle Grove. He died after a lingering illness at Mercy Hospital, Ft. Dodge Thursday morning, Aug. 13, 1959.

He was unmarried and made his home with his sister Mrs. Herbert Bard of Eagle Grove. He worked for the C and N W railroad for several years.

Surviving are two brothers: Emil of Waterloo and Selmer of Chicago. Two sisters: Tillie, Mrs. Herbert Bard of Eagle Grove and Ruby, Mrs. Lloyd Lerdal of Belmond. Preceding him in death were three brothers, Conrad, Swardrup and Tandrup, one sister, Mrs. Hannah Strom.

Funeral services were held Saturday Aug. 15 at 2:00 at the Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church with Kenneth R. Torvlk, Pastor officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Cemetery.
