October 25, 1910 ---- May 27, 1999

Eva Elizabeth Wilcox Enckson, 88, of Clarion, died Thursday, May 27th 1999. after a brief bout with cancer. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, June 1st at the United Church of Christ Congregational, Clarion. Rev. Curt Miner officiated the 11 a.m. service. Burial will be at a later date in Rose Hill Cemetery. Eagle Grove Willim Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Her body has been donated to the Department of Anatomy at the University of Iowa Medical School, according to her wishes and in keeping with her lifelong commitment of service to others.

Eva Elizabeth Wilcox was born October 25, 1910 in Troy Township, Eagle Grove, the daughter of Edith A. and Albert Wilcox. She graduated from Eagle Grove High School and worked in Eagle Grove and Des Moines. She and Irvin Erickson were married January 31, 1936 at Des Moines. They farmed for many years in Lake Township, north of Clarion. They moved to Clarion in 1975 and were two of the founding members of the Clarion Senior Center. Irvin died in 1985. Eva was always active in the community, especially with the Clarion United Church of Christ Congregational and the Clarion Hospital Auxiliary,

She is survived by one son, Jim Erickson and wife, Jorja Wood of Clarion, one daughter, Jan Douglas and husband, Joe of Bettendorf, six grandchildren, two brothers, Milton Wilcox and wife of Clarion, Roger Wilcox of Fort Dodge, one sister Marjorie Paneitz of Berry Mills, Arkansas, and a special friend and companion. Don Sharp of Clarion. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a half-brother. Leslie.

Memorial gifts may be made to the United Church of Christ Congregational, Clarion Senior Center, Community Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, or Wright County Hospice.
