Irvin B. Erickson, 76, longtime Clarion area farmer, died at the Clarion Care Center on Friday afternoon, June 21, 1985. Memorial services were held from the United Church of Christ, Congregational on Monday afternoon. Rev. Steven Lashbrook officiated. The body was donated to the Anatomy Department of the University of Iowa.

Irvin was born on a farm near Clarion on March 3, 1909. He was the son of Benhard and Isabel Olson Erickson and was raised in the Eagle Grove area. He graduated from Eagle Grove High School On January 31, 1936, he was married to Eva Wilcox at Des Moines. For many years he farmed north of Clarion and retired to town nine years ago.

Survivors include his wife, a son, James B. of Clarion, a daughter; Janis K. Douglas of Bettendorf, and four grandchildren. His parents, one brother and three sisters preceded him in death.

He was a member of the United Church of Christ, Congregational and had been a member of the Lions Club.
