Clifford T. McVicker, 82, Rockwell City, died December 9, 1997 at Trinity Regional Hospital, Fort Dodge.

Services were held Saturday, December 13, 1997 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Lizard Township, rural Palmer, with the Reverend David Peterson officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.

Clifford McVicker was born April 18, 1915, at Eagle Grove. He attended country schools there. He married Lyla Voight in 1939 at Eagle Grove. They later divorced. He was employed with Ellsworth Truck Line for 40 years, as a truck driver, shop foreman and refrigerator superintendent. He married Ilene Peters in 1977 at Palmer. The couple lived in Eagle Grove, Theodosia, Missouri, Manson and moved to Rockwell City in 1996.

He was preceded in death by his parents Glen and Bessie Middleton McVicker; his first wife Lyla, son David, and brother Jay.

Survivors include wife Ilene; stepchildren Rhonda Cox, Ames, Berton Sanden, Manson, Cindy Johnson, Manson, John Sanden, Creston, and Timothy Sanden, Chicago, Illinois; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; sisters Helen Colyer, Independence, Missouri, Vickie Ross, Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, Alice Gabrielson, Maryville, Missouri, Ruth Garrett, Blue Springs, Missouri, Hazel Jones, Lawtey, Florida, Margaret Fincham, Ames; brothers David, Independence, Missouri, and Danny, Macon, Missouri.
