Dorothy Lee Koppes Johnson
14 June 1914 ---- 2 January 1995

Dorothy Lee Koppes was born June 17, 1914 at Iowa Falls. She attended country school in the Iowa Falls area. She was united in marriage to Homer Leroy Johnson on March 17, 1934 in Webster City. After their marriage, they made their home in Alden. The family returned to Webster City, where she worked for various cafes. They owned and operated the Johnson Cafe at Marble Rock. They moved to Eagle Grove and owned the Johnson Drive-Inn. Later she worked for Asgrow in Clarion and Dodger, Inc. in Eagle Grove. Her husband died February 28, 1983. She returned to Webster City, and entered the Southfield Care Center on November 2, 1989 suffering from Alzheimer's disease.

Dorothy Lee Johnson died at the Hamilton County Public Hospital in Webster City on Monday January 2, 1995. She had attained the age of 80 years, 6 months and 16 days. She was a former member of the First Baptist Church of Eagle Grove.

She is survived by her daughter, Dee Ann Trask and husband Lee M., Lehigh; son, Ronald D. Johnson, Nora Springs; 8 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; two brothers, Darrell Koppes, Ackley; Carl Koppes and wife Daisy, Henderson, Nev.; and one sister, Irene Chancellor, Cherokee. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, January 5, 1995 at the Willim Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Pastor Richard Larid officiated the 1 p.m. service. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove, Iowa. Willim Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
