November 4, 1909 --- August 8, 1962

Viola Mae (Wald) Jones was born November 4, 1909 in Grundy county, Iowa, to William and Elizabeth Wald. She was married to Willard Jones on Aug. 27, 1930 at Storm Lake, Iowa. To this union were born three children, Wilma, Dorothy and Ernest. She lived her adult life as a farm wife and was active in several civic organizations including being a member of the Woolstock Methodist church. She has suffered a long illness over the past four years which was brought to an end with her passing on August 8, 1962 at the hospital in Clarion, Iowa. Her friends and relatives describe her in the words, patient, having good humor, neat, considerate of others and faithful Hers was a deep and abiding faith which sustained her in the end.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Willard Jones, three children, Wilma, Mrs. Jake Mehmen of Cedar Falls; Dorothy, Mrs. George Hackett, Cedar Rapids and Ernest Jones, Eagle Grove. The grandchildren are Karl, Calvin, Karen, Russell and Guy Hackett and Mark Jones. The following brothers and sisters, Clara, Mrs. Elder Olson, Alexandria, Minn.; Fred Wald of Springfield, Oregon; Mrs. Orthen Braton of Park Rapids, Minn., and Mrs. Gordon Hansen of Alexandria, Minn. There were three sisters and one brother who preceded her in death.

Services were held at Methodist church in Woolstock, 2:00 p. m., August 11. Rev. Leon Wallace of Woolstock officiating. Interment was in Glenwood cemetery, Goldfield.
