PNEUMONIA CLAIMS NEW OWNER OF BEMENT FARM

DANIEL ROBINSON TAKEN ILL ON WAY TO MICHIGAN.

Daniel Robinson, Jr., of Goldfield, Iowa, died at the home of his cousin, Mrs. Enoch Beebe, Monday evening, after a severe illness of pneumonia. Mr. Robinson was taken ill on the train while enroute here and as soon as he reached Mason went to the Beebe home where pneumonia developed. He was accompanied by his brother Thomas, who also has been ill at Beebe’s with the “flu.” Funeral services were held at the chapel over McDonald’s store Wednesday, with burial here.

Mr. Robinson had purchased the M. A. Bement farm and with his brother preceded his family here, bringing his stock with him. His wife and four children, the oldest six years and the youngest nineteen months, came last Sunday night and his father and mother, who purchased the Jack Cross farm, are at their new home here and are both ill, and unable to settle their home. The family is badly in need of help and will appreciate any assistance given them.

Dannie Robinson Dead

This community was inexpressibly shocked Tuesday when Miss Mae Robinson received a telegram from Fred Knight at Mason, Michigan, announcing the death and burial of Dannie from pneumonia. Dannie was not feeling well the day he left Goldfield and it is supposed that he caught cold on his way to Michigan from riding in an insufficiently heated caboose. Earlier in the week a wire had been received stating his serious illness and hastening the departure of his wife and mother who both arrived in time to be present before his final departure. The telegram received Tuesday recited that all the rest of the family were well. Dannie was popular in Goldfield and has a multitude of friends who are in deep mourning over his untimely departure. A more extended obituary will appear next week.

He was united in marriage to Anna M. Nelson June 23, 1912. To this union were born four children, Verna, Kenneth, Lowell and little Avis.

Besides his wife and children he leaves to mourn his departure, his father, and mother, five sisters and two brothers; Mrs. Homer Eggleston of Sherwood, Iowa, Mrs. Oscar Harland of Woden, Iowa, Mae Robinson at Goldfield, Iowa, Bessie, Margaret, Tommie and Russel at Mason, Michigan, and a host of relatives and friends.

Dannie had lived all his life in Goldfield territory until this winter when the family had sold out their interests and moved to Michigan to establish a new home. But upon his arrival he was compelled to take to his bed with the dread pneumonia and in a few short days he passed away despite all that loving care and skillful attention could do.
