September 24, 1916 --- December 31,1991

Doris lone Pletcher was born September 24, 1916, the daughter of Walter E. and Tillie Mabel Kepler Pletcher at Florence. She received her education in the Dayton Township No. 2 country school, and graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1936.

She was united in marriage to Keith King of Clarion, November 12, 1941, at Milan, Mo. The couple returned to the family farm in Florence following their marriage. They farmed near Goldfield for 12 years before Mr. King died in 1976. She moved to Goldfield shortly after his death.

She was a member of the Park Church of Christ in Goldfield.

Doris lone King died from heart failure December 31, 1991, at the offices of Dr. G. B. Hogenson, M.D., in Eagle Grove, at the age of 75 years, three months and seven days.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two brothers, Raymond and Gerald Pletcher.

She is survived by her two sons, Tom and his wife, Peggy, and Michael, all of Goldfield; one daughter, Karen Kae Meyer of LeMars; three sisters, Maxine Pletcher and Mrs. Richard (Ardith) Madson, both of Des Moines; and Mrs. Robert (Ada) Perry of Clarion; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held January 3, 1992 at the Park Church of Christ in Goldfield, with the Rev. Tony Brandt officiating at the 11 a.m. services. Burial was in the Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield.

Kastler-Babcock Services, Eagle Grove, were in charge of arrangements.
