Funeral Monday For Jay Knight

Funeral services for Jay Knight, 79, were held Monday at 2 p.m. at the United Presbyterian Church with Rev. Carter Russell officiating. Burial was in the Glenwood Cemetery at Goldfield.

A Masonic service was held Sunday evening at the funeral home. Mr. Knight died shortly before noon Friday at Mercy Hospital in Fort Dodge. He had been ill only a short time. Surviving are eight children: Mrs. David Grandgeorge and Betty Lou Knight of Eagle Grove; Richard, Adams, Minn., Kenneth, Lynn, Mrs. Leslie Kvale, Mrs. Eugene Lewis and James all of Goldfield. Also surviving are 22 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Knight was born and educated at Goldfield. In 1908 he married Maude Kelling at Goldfield near where they farmed until retiring in 1956 and moved into town. Mrs. Knight died in 1963. Mr. Knight was a member of the Presbyterian Church and the Masonic Lodge.
