Fred Knight Found Dead Here Saturday

Had Not Been Seen Since Night Before; Body Was Found In County Warehouse.

Fred Knight, 76, was found dead Saturday morning, July 3, in the warehouse south of the Moseley Implement store.

The building is one that is used by the county for the storage of their spraying truck. Mr. Knight had been working on one of the spraying trucks the day before and it is thought that when he put the truck up for the night, became ill and lay down to rest on the cot there in the building. When he did not show up for work Saturday morning a search was made for him and his body was found by Birdsall Carlson and Pete Johnson. The county coroner was called and after examination it was decided Mr. Knight had been dead up to 10 hours.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in the Methodist church, in charge of Rev. Shultz. Burial was in Glenwood Cemetery.

Mr. and Mrs. Albert Robinson, Mr. and Mrs. Don Robinson, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Robinson and Duane Robinson of Minneapolis, Minn., were guests of Mrs. Lillian Borwey during the weekend. They were here to attend the funeral of Mrs. Albert Robinson's father, Fred Knight in Goldfield.

Fred F. Knight Died Suddenly Here Saturday

Fred F. Knight, 76, passed away here sometime Friday morning of a heart attack. He was found at about 8 a.m. Friday in the building south of the turkey hatchery by Portal Johnson, an employee of Moseley Implement Co. Mr. Knight had been in the habit of parking his car in the building and it is believed that he suffered a heart attack. His body was lying on an old davenport in the building.

Obituary

Fred Fawcett Knight was born in Traer, Tama county on July 1, 1872. In his early twenties he moved to Goldfield and resided here until his death on July 3, 1948, at the age of 76 years and two days.

On September 21, 1895, he was married to Bessie Typer. To this union were born three children. Pearl Robinson of Minneapolis, Minn.; Hazel, who died in infancy: and Harold, who died in August of 1925 at the age of nineteen.

He leaves to mourn, his daughter, Pearl; three grandsons, Donald, Earl and Duane; three great grandchildren, all of Minneapolis; also two brothers, Tom and Jay of Goldfield; three sisters, Mrs. Maggie Robinson of Mason, Mich.; Lottie Miller of Ada, Minn.; and Mrs. Nell Leach of Dixon, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

He was preceeded in death by one brother, Will, and a sister, Celestia Samuels.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Goldfield Monday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Fred M. Shultz, pastor of the church in charge. Internment was at Glenwood cemetery at Goldfield.
