Mrs. Ethel McDonald, the former Mrs. Ethel Martin Lester and former resident of the Goldfield community many years ago, died Saturday at the Grandview Nursing home at Oelwein. She had been seriously ill for several months.
She is survived by one son, William of Champagne, Ill., One sister Mrs. W. D. McCutcheon of Goldfield, two brothers, Claude of Torrance, Calif. and Merle of Miami, Florida.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at the Catholic church in Independence with burial at the Goldfield cemetery Tuesday afternoon.

Independence -- Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. John's Catholic church for Mrs. Ethel McDonald, who died Saturday in a nursing home at Oelwein; burial in a cemetery at Goldfield; survived by a son, William, Champaign, Ill.; a sister, Mrs. W. D. McCutcheon, Goldfield; two brothers, Claude, Torrance, Calif., and Merle, Miami, Fla.; rosary 8 p. m. Monday in the Hawe Funeral Home.The Courier --- Waterloo, Iowa
