Leslie Larsen Died Sunday

DEATH FOLLOWED EIGHT WEEKS OF ILLNESS IN HOSPITAL

The community was saddened when the news spread that Leslie Larsen, a young farmer of this community, had passed away Sunday evening. While the news of his illness the past weeks had partially softened the bad news, nevertheless it was hard for his many friends to realize the news was the truth.

On Monday, June 30, he was taken to the Lutheran hospital in Fort Dodge for an operation for acute gangrenous-ruptured appendix and since that time he has been in a serious condition. He has rallied several times, giving greater hopes to his friends and relatives, but he would then have another sinking spell.

Last week it was realized the end could not be far distant, so at his request and the permission of the doctors, he was removed to his home. This seemed to rally him as he enjoyed being home so much, but by Sunday evening his condition grew worse and he bid his family good-bye and in half an hour his spirit had departed.

Funeral services were held at the home Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Ira D. Halvorsen of the Baptist church. Music was rendered by a quartet composed of Miss Margie Cleveland, Floyd Zinser, Rev. and Mrs. Ira D. Halvorsen, and a duet by Miss Cleveland and Mrs. Halvorsen. Mrs. Richard Reichter was pianist.

The local Legion post had charge of the services at the local cemetery where the body was laid to rest.
