Homer F. Wasem
26 February 1883 --- 10 April 1964

Funeral For Long Time Business Man Monday
Homer Wasem, 81, died Friday evening April 10 in Lutheran hospital, Fort Dodge where he had been a patient since early in February. Mr. Wasem suffered a broken hip on Labor Day of last year, and had not been well since that time, although a complication of other illnesses was given as the cause of his death.

He is survived by his brother Harry. The two brothers had lived together in their West Broadway home for many years.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Kastler Funeral Home with Rev. Lyle Lieder in charge. Interment was in Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield. Masonic services were held at the funeral home Sunday evening.

Mr. Wasem was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Wasem and was born on a farm west of Eagle Grove just south of the Country Club, on Feb. 26, 1883. For many years he was in the drug business here, in the Sorenson Drug Co. and in the Wasem
and Morse Drug Store. He was a member of the Iowa State Drug Ass'n. and last February was presented with a 50 year certificate from the Iowa State Pharmacy Board. After disposing of his drug store O. E. Nerby, Mr. Wasem later opened a wall paper and paint store which he operated for many years before selling to Art Ahrens.

He had belonged to Bower Lodge, Medina Council and Eagle Grove Chapter of the Masonic Lodge for more than 50 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother who died in infancy.
