Charles Troyer
6 August 1875 --- 15 July 1973Charles Troyer, 87, died Monday at a Sioux City nursing home after a long illness. A longtime resident of Goldfield, Ia., he had resided at the nursing home here for the last year.
Mr. Troyer was born August 6, 1875, at Arthur, Ill., and moved to Goldfield in 1895. He farmed there until his retirement 15 years ago. He married Mattie Frost June 20, 1900, at Goldfield. She died in 1957. Mr. Troyer was a member of the Methodist church at Goldfield and was past master of Fountain City lodge 589, A.F. & A. M., at Goldfield. He received his 50-year Masonic pin in 1958.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Lela Hogue of Sioux City; Mrs. Eleanor Miller of Alamo, Tex., and Mrs. Ruth Stewart of Silver Spring, Md.; a sister, Mrs. Florence Johnson of Ramona, Okla.; two grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. The body was taken to the Heaton-Westcott funeral home and will be taken today to Eagle Grove, Ia., prior to funeral services and burial at Goldfield.
