Peter Aksel Marinus Nelson
21 April 1896 ---- 21 January 1979

Peter Aksel Marinus Nelson, 82, passed away Sunday evening, Jan. 21, 1979, at the Park Manor Care Center in Fort Dodge, Ia. He was born April 21, 1896, in Langeland, Denmark and was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at an early age, at Langeland. At the age of 18, he came to the United States, settling in George, Ia.

On August 25, 1923, he married Esther Nelsen at Goldfield. They farmed near Goldfield and Eagle Grove until he retired in 1965 and moved to Eagle Grove in 1969.

Peter was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and a brother. Survivors include his wife, Esther; two sons: Lyle of Livermore and James of Fairfax, Va.; three daughters: Margaret (Mrs. Willard) Olson of Harlan, Doris (Mrs. Gerald) Harms of Fort Dodge, and Betty Nelson of Des Moines; a brother, Anton Jorgensen of Langeland, Denmark and nine grandchildren.

Peter was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove, where services were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, with Rev. Marvin Berkeland officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
