Mrs. McCutcheon Will Be Buried at Goldfield Thursday

GOLDFIELD — Funeral services for Mrs. Everett W. McCutcheon, 39, will he conducted Thursday at 2:30 p. m. in Goldfield Methodist church. Rev. Frank Greene will officiate, and burial will be in Glenwood cemetery at Goldfield. Funeral arrangements are being made by the Wilson funeral chapel of Eagle Grove.

Mrs. McCutcheon, who lived on RFD 2, Eagle Grove, died Monday at Mercy hospital in Ft. Dodge. She had been a patient there since Saturday when she suffered a cerebral hemorrhage.

The former Burnis DeWinter, Mrs. McCutcheon is survived by her husband and two daughters, Beverly Jean and Barbara Ann; her parents, three sisters and a brother.

Mr. and Mrs. W. H. McCutcheon who had been vacationing in Winter Haven, Fla. were called home by the serious illness and death of their daughter-in-law Mrs. Everett McCutcheon. They arrived by plane at Des Moines late Monday afternoon and were met by Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Axon.

Funeral Service At 2:30 Thursday Afternoon In Goldfield Methodist Church

Funeral services will be this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the Methodist church Goldfield, for Mrs. Everett McCutcheon, 39, who died Monday afternoon at 4 p. m. in a Fort Dodge hospital.

Mrs. McCutcheon suffered a cerebral hemorrhage Saturday evening while attending the girls' basketball tournament in Bode. She was taken to the hospital immediately in an ambulance and remained unconscious until her death.

The former Burnis DeWinter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry DeWinter of Vincent, Mrs. McCutcheon is survived by her husband and two daughters Beverly, a junior in Goldfield high school, and Barbara in the eighth grade. Also surviving are her parents, three sisters, Mrs. Harold Hallagan of Eagle Grove, Mrs. Clarence Anderson of Thor, Mrs. Eilert Simpson of Humboldt, and one brother, Lurman DeWinter of Thor.

Rev. Franke [Frank] Greene will have charge of the funeral services and interment will be in Glenwood cemetery, Goldfield.

Obituary

Burnis Henrietta, daughter of Henry and Bertha DeWinter was born in Webster County, Iowa on, February 17, 1914. She passed away on February 8, 1954 at Mercy hospital after suffering a cerebral hemorrhage only two days previous. Her death came suddenly, and was a shock to the whole community. She was 39 years 11 months and 21 days at the time of her passing.

Her early childhood was spent on a farm with her parents in the Vincent community. She attended Webster county schools, and later the Eagle Grove High School. As a girl she was baptized and later confirmed in the Lutheran faith in the Vincent Lutheran church.

On November 21,1935 at Pocahontas, Iowa she was united in marriage to Everett W. McCutcheon of Eagle Grove, and to this union 3 children were born. She lived her entire married life in the Evergreen Community. After her marriage she transferred her membership to Goldfield Methodist church; where she was a faithful member and loyal worker.

She was preceded in death by one son, William Everett, who passed away in infancy eight years ago. Also one brother, Clifford DeWinter.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, Everett W. and two daughters, Beverly and Barbara. Her mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Henry DeWinter of Vincent. Three sisters, Mrs. Harold Hallagan of Eagle Grove, Mrs. Clarence Andersen of Thor, Iowa, Mrs. Eilert Sampson [Simpson] of Humboldt, one brother, Lurman DeWinter of Thor. Also her mother and father in law, Mr and Mrs. W. H. McCutcheon of Goldfield. Other relatives and a host of friends.

She was a loving wife, and mother. Her sunny disposition and cheery smile will be missed greatly by all who knew her. While her own health had been failing for the past several years, she was never too busy to lend a helping hand to anyone who might need her.

Funeral services were held Thursday, February 11, 1954 at the Methodist church Goldfield, with Rev. Frank C. Green officiating. Interment was held in Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield, Iowa.

400 Attend Service For Mrs. E. McCutcheon

Funeral services for Mrs. Everett McCutcheon were held Thursday afternoon at the Methodist church in Goldfield with the Rev. Frank Greene in charge of the service.

Among the four hundred persons present were relatives from Pipestone, Hartland, Wells, Leroy, Mankato and Alden all in Minnesota, and Britt, Rockwell, Clarion, Des Moines, Humboldt, Fort Dodge, Mason City, Thor, Corwith, Webster City, Vinton, Cedar Rapids, Vincent, Renwick, Storm Lake, Eagle Grove and Goldfield.
