Howard Stevenson funeral Monday

Funeral services for Howard L. Stevenson were held Monday at 2 p.m. at the United Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Marion Blake officiating. Burial was in Glenwood
Cemetery.

Mr. Stevenson died Friday afternoon at his home following a sudden heart attack. He had suffered a heart attack about three years ago at which time he retired from the Goldfield
Police force.

He is survived by his wife, two sons, Tom of Nashville, Tenn.; and Fenner of Great Falls, Mont.; two grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Charles Anderson of Elmore, Minn.

Mr. Stevenson, 69, was born in Goldfield and his parents were the late Mr. and Mrs. L. P. Stevenson.

He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, the Masonic Lodges, and White Shrine.

Obituary

Howard Lawrence Stevenson was born December 29, 1901, at Goldfield, the son of Lawrence P. and Jennie Hyde Stevenson.

He was educated in the Goldfield Public School, and attended Iowa State Teacher's College at Ames.

He was united in marriage to Genevieve Fenner of Eagle Grove, at Eagle Grove, on June 1, 1933. They made their home in Goldfield after their marriage, and operated a grocery and meat market in Goldfield until 1963.

He served as Chief of Police at Goldfield for five years. He retired three years ago because of a heart attack.

Mr. Stevenson died at his home Friday afternoon after suffering a heart attack. At the time of his death, he was 69 years, 5 months, and 4 days of age.

He is survived by his wife, Genevieve, two sons, Tom Stevenson, Nashville, Tenn.; and Fenner Stevenson, Great Falls, Mont.; two grandchildren and one sister, Florence, Mrs. Charles Anderson, Elmore, Minn.

Mr. Stevenson was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, the Masonic Lodge, the White Shrine and Chapter and Council.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and an infant brother, Samuel Paul.

Masonic services were held at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home at 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 6.

Funeral services were held on Monday at 2 p.m. at the United Presbyterian Church at Goldfield, with the Rev. Marion Blake officiating. Burial was in the Glenwood Cemetery at Goldfield.

Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Stevenson and Mary were callers Sunday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Howard Stevenson at Goldfield because of the death of Mr. Howard Stevenson. Mr. and Mrs. Stevenson and Mary attended the funeral of Howard Stevenson held at United Presbyterian Church at Goldfield Monday afternoon. The deceased was a cousin of Lloyd Stevenson.
