LAWRENCE WILLIAM McCUTCHEON
Lawrence William McCutcheon, the son of John and Iva Helmer McCutcheon, was born February 16, 1911.
He was educated in a country school near Goldfield, attended high school in Goldfield, and worked on a farm after his education.
He was united in marriage to Lorine Reichter of Goldfield on September 28, 1932, at her parents' home near Goldfield.
The couple farmed north of Goldfield until moving to Goldfield in 1966. He worked at Whyte's Implement, then for the Goldfield Creamery until its closing. After retiring, he worked part-time at the Glenwood Cemetery and the Methodist Church in Goldfield.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Goldfield and the Goldfield Lions Club.
He entered Mercy Hospital in Mason City, on June 18, 1990, for surgery on June 19. He died unexpectedly on June 27 [28] at the age of 79 years, four months and 11 [12] days.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Walter, Leonard, and Donald; one sister, Marian Heslop; and one great-granddaughter, Amy Johnson.
He is survived by his wife, Lorine, Goldfield; two sons, Robert, Eagle Grove; Roger, Goldfield; two daughters, Mrs. Maynard (Marilyn) Eittreim, Eagle Grove; and Mrs. Jon (Karen) Terry, Fort Devens, Mass.; two sisters, Verla Crovisier, Thor; and Vera Lewis, Webster City; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, Goldfield, with the Rev. James Seibert officiating. Burial was in Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield.
The Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home, Eagle Grove, was in charge of arrangements.
