June 13, 1950 ---- January 1, 2020

Eddie L. Schuver, 69, of Belmond, Iowa and formerly of Goodell, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at his home. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at the Goodell Community Hall, 315 Broadway Street in Goodell, with Pastor Mark Peterson officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday, January 11, 2020 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Goodell Community Hall.

Eddie Lee Schuver was born June 13, 1950 to Billy and Grace (Leuwerke) Schuver in Forest City. He was raised and educated in Kanawha, graduating from Kanawha High School with the Class of 1968.

Eddie was united in marriage to Ramae Busick on March 22, 1969 at the Kanawha United Methodist Church. The couple were blessed with three children, Shane, Chrystal and Casey. The couple made their home in Belmond before moving to rural Goodell in 1971. In 2018, Eddie and Ramae moved to Belmond.

Eddie was employed at Winnebago Industries from 1969 – 1971, Central Soya from 1971 – 1977, when he became self-employed. He later worked for Sparboe Farms beginning in 1987 until beginning with Iowa Select Farms, where he worked until his retirement in 2014.

Eddie was an avid outdoorsman, trapping and fishing, hunting deer, ducks and coon. He was well known around the area for having raised many wild animals, including bears, skunks, silver fox, deer, elk, big horn sheep, emu and llamas. He felt most at peace when in nature.

In 2016, Eddie was diagnosed with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP), a rare degenerative brain disorder that afflicted him until his death.

Eddie is survived by his wife, Ramae of Belmond; children Shane (Charlet) Schuver of Swaledale, Chrystal Schuver of Rudd and Casey (Chris Aguilera) Schuver of Belmond; grandchildren Kirstin, Zachary, Dakota, Alex, Cheyenne, Miranda, Chandler, Shaylee and Kinzlee; great-grandchildren Harper, Hazel, Bentley and Taven; sisters Victoria Schuver of Kanawha and Debbie Duay of Cedar Rapids; sister-in-law Rhonda Schuver; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Larry Schuver.

Eddie’s family suggests memorial donations be directed to CurePSP or Gateway Hospice.
