Grave side services were held Saturday afternoon at Rose Hill Cemetery for A. H. Packard, 74, who died Wednesday at his home in Mason City. Mr. Packard suffered a stroke the first part of the week. He was a former yardmaster for the C. & N. W. here, and the family resided here for many years. Mr. Packard is survived by his wife, and one daughter, Phyllis, Mrs. Ward Hanson, of Mason City, also four brothers H. R. and E. H. Packard of Webster City; Burr Packard of Renwick, and Richard Packard of Seattle, Wash. Also four sisters, Mrs. Grace McCurry, Mrs. Inda Blesie, and Mrs. Doris Kiester of Renwick, and Mrs. Lorraine Emme of La Porte City.Eagle Grove Eagle --- Eagle Grove, Iowa

Arthur Packard Services Held Rites Conducted at Local Funeral Home Funeral services for Arthur H. Packard, 71, who died Thursday, following a short illness, were held Saturday at the Major Memorial chapel with the Rev. Peter J. Jansen, pastor of the First Congregational church, officiating. Mrs. Roy Servison played obsequial music on the organ. Interment was at Rose Hill cemetery at Eagle Grove. Bower Lodge No. 464 A. F. & A. M. held Masonic services at the grave. Arthur Packard Dies at Home
Funeral Services Are Not Complete
Arthur H. Packard, 71, died at his home, 1201 3rd S. W.. Thursday morning, following a short illness. He was a retired yardmaster of the Chicago and North Western railway, and had made his home in Mason City for the past 18 years. Mr. Packard was born July 3, 1879 at Corwith, Iowa. He came to Mason City from Eagle Grove in 1932 and had made his home here since that time. He retired in August, 1945.Surviving are his wife, Mrs. May Packard, a daughter, Mrs. Ward Hanson, Mason City, and 4 sisters, Mrs. Grace McCurry, Mrs. Inda Blesie and Mrs. Doris Kiester, Renwick, Iowa and Mrs. Laura Emme, Laporte City, Iowa; Four brothers, Richard Packard, Seattle, Wash., Burr Packard, Renwick, and Herbert and Edred Packard, Webster City, also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.
Mr. Packard was a member of the First Congregational church of Mason City and the Masonic lodge Eagle Grove. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Interment will be at Eagle Grove. The Major funeral home in charge.
