Final Rites Held For H. M. Duerst

Deceased Was Born and Raised in Wright County, Living Entire Life in Evergreen Community.

Henry M. Duerst was born on the Duerst home place, four miles southwest of Goldfield, March 8, 1884, and passed beyond at the Mercy hospital in Fort Dodge, five minutes before three o'clock on Sunday afternoon, March 24, 1930, aged 46 years and 16 days. The deceased was born and educated in this community. On Sept. 5, 1906, Henry M. Duerst and Miss Florence Reichter were united in marriage. Their family consists of two daughters, Mrs. Ethel Beach and Mrs. Alta Slaikeu, residents of Wright county. Of the parental home, N. C. Duerst, the father, and a sister, Mrs. Jessie Hanson, both of Goldfield, survive.

Mr. Duerst's health was impaired during the last year of his life. Following an operation for bowel obstruction, complications ensued causing his death.

"Henry" Duerst, as he was familiarly known, enjoyed an enviable reputation. Unassuming in manner dependable in all his social and business relations, his death has caused profound sorrow that in the prime of life his earthly labors should end.

A faithful, kind and self-sacrificing husband and father, a true friend and neighbor, Mr. Duerst leaves as a heritage the memory of a life whose issues were helpful and wholesome. Such a life bears the ear-marks of immortality.
