Mrs. J. D. Hanson Is Illness Victim
A long illness proved fatal to Mrs. John D. Hanson, 70, of 1012 S. Euclid Ave. Mrs. Hanson, a resident of Sioux Falls for the past six years, died at a local hospital this morning.
Mrs. Hanson was an active member of the First Methodist Church Women's Society of Christian Service. She was also a member of the Women's Christian Temperance Union and the Rebecca Lodge of Goldfield. Ia.
The body will lie in state at the Miller Funeral Home from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Wednesday. It will then be taken to Goldfield for last rites at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Goldfield Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Goldfield Methodist Church Cemetery.
Born in Humboldt County, la., June 25, 1881, Jessie Duerst grew up in that area. She was married to Mr. Hanson in Goldfield, Feb. 22, 1905. Mr. and Mrs. Hanson then moved to Cooperstown, N.D., where they resided on a farm for four years before moving to Eagle Grove, la., in 1909.
Mrs. Hanson returned to Goldfield following the death of her husband in 1912. She came to Sioux Falls in 1945.
She is survived by a son, Leland, Sioux Fall, and a grandson.

Services were held at the Goldfield, la., Methodist Church today for Mrs. John D. (Jessie) Hanson, 70, of 1012 S. Euclid Ave., who succumbed at a Sioux Falls hospital Tuesday morning. While living in Sioux Falls for the past six years, Mrs. Hanson was an active member of the WSCS and the WTCU. Burial was in Goldfield. The Miller Funeral Home was in charge.

Word was received in Goldfield Tuesday of the death of Mrs. Jessie Hanson of Sioux Falls, S. D. Mrs. Hanson had been a patient at the Sioux Valley hospital for some time due to a heart ailment and passed away at 7 o’clock Tuesday morning. Funeral services will be in Goldfield Thursday afternoon in the Methodist Church.

Former Resident Dies at Age of 70
Mrs. Jessie Hanson of Sioux Falls, S. D., former resident of Goldfield, passed away at the Sioux Valley hospital Tuesday morning. Mrs. Hanson had been a patient at the hospital for some time due to a heart ailment.
Funeral services were held in Goldfield Thursday afternoon in the Methodist church. Interment was in the Glenwood cemetery.
Jessie Duerst, daughter of N. C. and Sarah Duerst, was born at Goldfield June 25, 1881.
Feb. 22, 1905, she was married to John P. Hanson, at which time they moved to North Dakota where they lived for four years, returning to Eagle Grove in 1909, and after the death of Mr. Hanson in 1912. Mrs. Hanson moved to Goldfield where she lived until 1945. At that time she moved to Sioux Falls, S. D., where she resided until passing away Dec. 18, 1951.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Kenneth and daughter, Ruth.
Mrs. Hanson was an active member of the Goldfield Methodist church and of the W.S.C.S.. She also maintained membership in the W.C.T.U. and was a past noble grand of the Goldfield Rebekah lodge.
She is survived by one son, Leland of Sioux Falls, S. D., and one grandson.
