Anna Helena Paulson Whitved
27 March 1892 --- 4 May 1978Anna Helena Paulson was born March 27, 1892, near Thor, Humboldt County, Ia., the daughter of Ole and Serina Olson Paulson. She was educated in a country school and also attended Dakota City, Ia. Public School.
On December 27, 1909, she was united in marriage to Harry Simpkins. To this union, one son, Dale A. Simpkins, was born. Mrs. Simpkins was widowed in 1928 when Mr. Simpkins was killed in a train accident.
On April 26, 1955, Anna's second husband, Peter Whitved, died in Milwaukee, Wis., where the couple had been making their home. Mrs. Whitved came to Eagle Grove in 1966 to make her home at the Rotary Ann Retirement Home.
She died suddenly at her home on the morning of May 4 at the age of 86 years, one month and seven days. She is survived by two brothers: Jack Paulson and Edwin Paulson, both of Fort Dodge; four sisters: Miss Selma Paulson, Eagle Grove; Mrs. Oledia Entler, Rutland, Mrs. Pearl Fries, Muskegon, Mich. and Miss Gladys Paulson, Eagle Grove; also four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Dale, one grandson Allan Simpkins, and two brothers: Peter and Serral Paulson.
Mrs. Whitved was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Royal Neighbors.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 6, at the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Eagle Grove. Rev. Marvin Berkeland officiated and burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
