MRS. KASSNER BURIED SUNDAY
Former Goldfield Woman Died in Spencer March 8; Is Survived by Twelve.
The funeral of Mrs. Alfretta Kassner, for many years a resident of Goldfield, was held at the Kubitschek & Kastler Funeral Home Sunday afternoon, Rev. Albert S. Kilbourn officiating.
Duets, "Safe in the Arms of Jesus" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere", were sung by Mrs. Fannie Cotton and Mrs. Vina Hall.
Burial was in the Goldfield cemetery. Mrs. Alfretta Longnecker Kassner, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Longnecker, was born at Round Grove, Ind., June 8, 1860, and passed away at Spencer, Iowa, Friday morning, March 18, 1938, her age being 77 years, 9 months, and 10 days.
She was united in marriage to William Kassner at LaFayette, Tippecanoe county, Ind., July 23, 1897.
To this union were born two daughters, Emma, now Mrs. Ernest Kell, of Eagle Grove, and Pearl, now Mrs. Ralph Cleveland of Spencer, Iowa.
In 1912, Mr. and Mrs. Kassner removed from Indiana to Goldfield, Iowa, which was to be their home until the death of Mr. Kassner on September 20, 1919. She then went to live with her daughter, Mrs. Cleveland at Goldfield until the family removed to Spencer, May 30, 1937.
She leaves to mourn their loss, her two daughters, two step-sons, John and James Kassner, of Eagle Grove, one step-daughter, Mrs. Anna Gallagher, of San Francisco, Calif., four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Early in life she became a member of a Baptist church in Indiana. For over 20 years she had been confined to her home with ill health. During this time she enjoyed the friendship and spiritual guidance of the pastor of the Goldfield Baptist church.
