NOLA E. CLEVELAND

Nola E. Cleveland, 86, of Quality Health Care Center, 84th Street and Meredith Drive, Urbandale, a retired school teacher, died of a respiratory ailment Tuesday at the center. After private family services, a graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Glenwood Cemetery in Goldfield. Mrs. Cleveland was born in Allison and had lived in Goldfield and Waterloo before moving to San Bernardino, Calif., where she lived most of her life. She had taught school in Goldfield, Waterloo and California. She was a graduate of Parsons College in Fairfield. She was an organist for and a member of Faith Bible Church in San Bernardino, and was a charter member of PEO Chapter PE.

Survivors include a brother, F. Clarke Shaw of Des Moines, and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at Westover Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Federated Church in Des Moines or Faith Bible Church in San Bernardino, Calif.

SAN BERNARDINO - Nola E. Cleveland, 86, a longtime former resident, died June 17, 1986 in Des Moines, Iowa.

Born in Allison, Iowa, she retired in 1937 as a school teacher, was a member of the Faith Bible Church in San Bernardino, was a charter member of the PEO and an organist at the Faith Bible Church for many years.

Survivors include one brother, F. Clarke Shaw of Des Moines; and several nieces and nephews.

Private services were held at the Westover Funeral Home, Des Moines. Interment was at Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield, Iowa. Memorial contributions may be made to the Faith Bible Church in San Bernardino. Westover Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Nola Cleveland dies in Des Moines

Mrs. Nola Cleveland, 86, died at a Des Moines nursing home on Tuesday, June 17. Funeral services were held in Des Moines Thursday, June 19 with burial that afternoon at Glenwood Cemetery in Goldfield.

Mrs. Cleveland was the sister-in-law of Mrs. Ruth Lyons of Goldfield and lived in San Bernardino, Calif. for many years. Her husband, Lt. Col. Sid Cleveland died in 1985.

Those attending the funeral services in Des Moines and burial in Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield on June 17 for Mrs. Nola E. (Shaw) Cleveland, a former Goldfield school teacher, were Mrs. Margie Miles, Columbia, Mo.; Mrs. Frances Cleveland, Lawrence Kan.; Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Miles, Kansas City, Mo.; Mrs. Judy Morrison, Traer; Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Lyons and Bob and Dave of LeMars; Mr. and Mrs. Jasper Leverich and grandsons of Norwalk; Mr. and Mrs. Clarke Shaw, Des Moines; Mrs. Connie Soloman, Indianola; Mrs. Mary Rose, Cincinnati, Ohio; Mrs. Ruth Lyons, and Mrs. Pearl Cleveland and son Richard of Goldfield.

She was the sister-in-law of Mrs. Ruth Lyons of Goldfield and was married to Lt. Col. Sid Cleveland who proceeded her in death in April of 1985.
