ALTA H. NELSON
Alta H. Nelson was born on October 29, 1902, the daughter of Nels S. and Nellie Hanson Nelson, at Goldfield, Iowa. She received her education in the Goldfield public school.

Alta was united in marriage to Hale Plunkett of Goldfield, Iowa, on December 13, 1924, at her parents' home near Goldfield. After their marriage, the couple made their home near Goldfield before moving into town. In 1971, Hale and Alta moved to live with their son James, at Lancaster, PA., due to Hale's failing health. Hale passed away in 1972. Alta then moved with James and his family to Cincinnati, Ohio.

Alta entered the Crestwood Care Center, Cincinnati, Ohio, after her ill health no longer made it possible to stay with her son. She passed away there on July 18, 1989, at the age of 86 years, 8 months, and 19 days.

Alta is survived by her son James of Cincinnati, Ohio; and 1 sister Elsie McVay of Aurora, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, and one sister.

Alta was a charter member of the Park Church of Christ in Goldfield. Graveside services were held at 11 a.m., at the Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield, Iowa, on July 24, 1989. The Reverend Tony Brandt officiated and burial was also held in Glenwood Cemetery.
