Floyd Wilson Williams
10 June 1906 --- 18 August 1982

Floyd Wilson Williams, the son of Benjamin and Matilda Fahrion Williams, was born on June 10, 1906, in Moultrie County, Ill. In 1920, he moved with his parents to Goldfield, Iowa. Floyd served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was stationed in North Africa. In 1942, the Williams family moved to Eagle Grove. Floyd was a long-time active member of the experimental airplanes and helped many people with special kinds of projects. He was a licensed aircraft pilot. He will be remembered as a person who wanted to help others.

Mr. Williams died at his home in Eagle Grove on Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 18, 1982, after suffering a heart attack. He attained the age of 76 years, two months and eight days. For the past several years, Floyd and his sister had shared a home in Eagle Grove.

He is survived by his sister, Mrs. Geneva Hanson of Eagle Grove, a brother, Maurice of Minneapolis.
Minn.; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services for Floyd W. Williams, were held on Saturday, Aug. 21, 1982 at 10 a.m. at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home in Eagle Grove, Iowa. Rev. Kenneth R. Reiter officiated and burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Visitation was held at the funeral home on Friday.
