Stroke of Apoplexy Friday Evening and Died on Saturday; Auto Hearse Was Used

The death of Edward S. Williams came very suddenly last Saturday.

The obituary follows:

Edward S. Williams, born Radershire, [Radnorshire] Wales, December 29th, 1847. Died July 3rd, 1915, age 67 years and four days. He came to this country with his parents in the year 1871, settling at Kenosha, Wis., where he was married to Miss Sarah Dixon in the year 1876. He with his family moving to Wright County, Iowa in the year 1880, where he resided until his death.

To this union five children were born, Lillian May, Ralph Edward, Thomas Walter, Grace Pearl and a baby boy, all of which died with their mother about twenty-seven years ago except Mrs. Lillian May McDaniels who still survives them. His death was caused by apoplexy being attacked in the evening and died the next day at two o'clock.

He was unconscious most of the time during the attack. Frank McDaniels was at the bedside until the end.

Mr. Williams was a generous, kindhearted man, would always divide with his friends, and was a good man to visit with, he was well educated and a shrewd businessman.

The funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the M. E. church, Rev. Welsh in charge of the service. Kastler & Cunningham, undertakers from Eagle Grove, were in charge of the body. The automobile hearse of Humboldt was used and the procession was mostly of cars. Burial was in the family lot at Eagle Grove in the Rose Hill cemetery.
