Funeral Wednesday For Alice Agard

Funeral services for Mrs. Alice Mae Agard, 86, longtime Goldfield resident were held Wednesday at Goldfield Methodist church with the Rev. Benjamin Price officiating. Burial was in Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield.

Mrs. Agard died Sunday at Iowa Lutheran hospital, Des Moines.

She had been in the hospital and a rest home for some weeks being cared for following a broken hip.

The former Alice Hinton, she spent most of her life at Goldfield. Her husband, Guy Enoch Agard, to whom she had been married in 1900, died in 1936.

Mrs. Agard is survived by nine children, Mrs. Joseph Pantaleon of Seattle, Wash., Mrs. Frank Kingkade and Wilbert of Des Moines, Burdette of Sioux City, DeVere of Toledo, Ohio, Gerald of Chula Vista, Calif., Ray of LuVerne, Kenneth of Ames and Leo of Newton; 16 grandchildren and seven greatgrandchildren.

Also surviving are one brother and four sisters, Edwin Hinton, St. Charles, Ill., Mrs. Mary Greenwalt of Toledo, Ohio, Mrs. Myrtle Wood of Pewana, Mich., Mrs. Clara Pollock of Clarion and Mrs. Nell Skinner of Goldfield.

Services held for mother of LuVerne man

LuVerne—The Ray Agards, son Gary, LuVerne, and daughter Linda, Fort Dodge, attended the funeral of Mrs. Alice Mae Agard, 86, mother of Mr. Agard, Wednesday in the Goldfield Methodist church. The Rev. Benjamin Price officiated and burial was in Glenwood cemetery, at Goldfield.

Mrs. Agard died Sunday at the Iowa Lutheran hospital, Des Moines, following a leg fracture and was hospitalized several months.

The former Alice Hinton, she spent most of her life at Goldfield. Her husband Guy Enoch Agard, whom she wed in 1900, died in 1936.

Survivors include nine children of whom known in this area are Ray Agard and Burdette Agard, Sioux City teacher, in the LuVerne high school in 1930.
