Michael John Kist
6 April 1949 --- 15 May 1967

Michael John Kist was born April 6, 1949 at Evanston, Illinois to John and Ruth Olson Kist. He was baptized at Trinity Lutheran church, Evanston, April 16, 1949 and later confirmed at Grace Lutheran church, Le Grange, Illinois on May 9, 1963. He died at Hinsdale, Illinois on May 15, 1967 after reaching the age of 18 years, 1 month, and 9 days.

When Michael was in fourth grade, he became ill; but recovered sufficiently so that he was able to continue in school until this last year when he became progressively worse. He was a senior in North High School at Downers Grove and last week, was awarded his graduation diploma. He was a member of the National Honor Society and was treasurer of the Youth Center in 1965-66.

Those who mourn his departure are his parents, one brother, Gary Kist of Chicago; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Olson and Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Kist both of Eagle Grove.

Funeral services were held Thursday, May 18 at 11:00 a. m. at Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church, Rev. H. W. Schiller. Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery.
