Gunhild "Gwen" Thomason, the daughter of Haldor and Alette Aarthun Thomason, was born on March 30, 1920 at Aakre, Norway. She came to the United States as a baby and lived in the Wright County area. She graduated from the Kanawha High School and later attended the Mankato Business College and worked in Mankato as a clerical worker for many years. She was never married and had lived in Mankato since 1938. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Mankato.

She died early Monday morning, March 17, 1986, at her home in Mankato, Minn., of a brief illness.

She is survived by her twin sister, Marie Thomason of Mankato, Minn., many cousins and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services for Miss Gunhild (Gwen) Thomason of Mankato, Minn., and formerly of Eagle Grove, were held on Wednesday, March 19, 1986 at 1:30 p.m. at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove. Rev. Paul Schaedig officiated and burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
