Mrs. Anna Nichols
October 9, 1865 --- February 2, 1942

Mrs. Anna Nichols, 76, widow of the late Edwin R. Nichols, died at the Ottumwa hospital Monday at 3:30 p.m. She was born in Polo, Illinois October 9, 1865. Later she lived in Eagle Grove. Moving to Cedar Rapids, she made her home in that city for 20 years. She came to Ottumwa August 1, 1940 to live with her daughter Mrs. A. P. Stevens, 508 North Court street. In addition to her daughter she is survived by a son, Charles E. Lee of Waterloo, a sister, Mrs. Emma Wressell of Cedar Rapids, three grandchildren and one nephew. Her husband preceded her in death in 1909. The body will be at the Vaughan funeral chapel until 5 p.m. Wednesday, when it will be sent to the Eagle Grove for services and burial.

Mrs. Anna Nichols, widow of the late Edwin R. Nichols, died at 3:30 p m. February 2, 1942 at the Ottumwa hospital in Ottumwa. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon from the Kubitschek and Kastler Funeral Home.

Born Anna Lura Wllber on Oct 9, 1865 in Polo, Ill., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. G. Wilber. She was married to Edward H. Lee of Eagle Grove on Dec. 28, 1884, who was killed at Renwick on Jan 18, 1887. To this union was born a son, Charles Edward Lee. On March 23, 1898, she was married to Edwin R. Nichols, who died Sept. 9, 1909. To this union was born a daughter, Leota Mae Nichols.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Leota Stevens and granddaughter, Carol Jean Bruns, with whom she made her home in Ottumwa, since moving there from Cedar Rapids Aug. 1, 1940, where they had lived for 30 years. Also surviving are a son, Charles E. Lee of Waterloo, two grandsons, Edward G Lee of Cedar Rapids, and Robert A. Lee, now in the service, a sister, Mrs. Emma Wressell of Cedar Rapids, and nephew, Edmund F. Wressel of Calumet City, Ill.

Interment was in the Rose Hill cemetery, beside her husband, Edwin R. Nichols. Those attending the funeral from out of town were: Mr. and Mrs. Stevens of Ottumwa, Mr. and Mrs. Lee of Waterloo, Mrs. Emma Wressell of Cedar Rapids, Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Wressell of Calumet City, Ill., and Andris Fulsom of Greendale, Wis.
