Arthur Lubbert was born on April 2, 1922, in Dike, Iowa, the son of Fred, Sr., and Mary Larson Lubbert. He served in the Army from 1943 to 1946. On March 19, 1951. he was united in marriage to Margaret Martin in Renwick. He worked in the VA Hospital in Des Moines from 1946 to 1979 as a Licensed Practical Nurse. They moved to Eldora in 1979 and he worked at the Valley View Nursing Home for eight years.

He was a member of the First Congregational Church, Montague Lodge No. 117, O. E. S. Ascension Chapter No. 158, Walter-Sayer American Legion Post No. 182, and a lifetime member of the VFW.

Arthur Lubbert died Friday, April 24, 1998, at the Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames at the age of
76. Survivors include his wife, Margaret, Eldora; son, Arthur C. Lubbert, Des Moines; and two sisters, Elsie Kessler, Grundy Center, and Leona Card of Aplington. He was preceded in death by his
parents; two brothers, Earl and Freddie, Jr., Lubbert; one sister, Florence Bottema; one infant sister; and one infant brother.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 28, 1998, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Congregational
Church in Eldora with Pastor Diantha Brown officiating. Burial was at 2 p.m. in the Elmwood Cemetery in Renwick, with Walter-Sayer American Legion Post No. 182 and Roll-Harless VFW Post No. 3974, who conducted full military graveside rites. Creps-Abels Funeral Home, Eldora, was in charge of
arrangements.
