1820 --- 28 March 1910

Daniel Sullivan one of our old settlers died the morning of the 28th at the Goldfield Hotel. He had been ailing for some time, his friends had noticed and he was at last persuaded not to return to his farm house where he lived alone. He was cared for in his last hours by his neice and a trained nurse.

Dan Sullivan an old and wealthy resident of Goldfield died there Monday morning and the remains were brought here and buried in Gethsemane cemetery Tuesday morning after the funeral service in Sacred Heart church. His only surviving relatives are a nephew and niece from Dubuque. He had never married and was about 80 years of age.

Uncle Dan Sullivan as be was known died Sunday night at twelve 'clock, old age and the grip being
the cause of his death. He was highly respected by all having lived here for over 40 years. Funeral services were held in the Catholic church at Eagle Grove.
