Mrs. Marie Lawson Funeral Monday

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Evangelical Lutheran church for Mrs. Marie Lawson, 82. Mrs. Lawson died Friday at Lutheran hospital, Fort Dodge Friday following a short illness.

Rev. H. W. Schiller had charge of the services and burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Surviving are a stepson, Coburn Lawson, Oshkosh, Wis., a sister, Mrs. Saline [Salina] Sorenson [Sorensen], Jamestown, N. D., three step-grandchildren, and three step-great-grandchildren.

Born in Norway, Mrs. Lawson, the former Marie Olson, came to the United States when six months old. She lived in Eagle Grove and North Dakota. In 1923 she married Gilbert Lawson at Eagle Grove. They lived in Fort Dodge a short time, returning to Eagle Grove where they had since lived. Mr. Lawson died in 1953.

Mrs. Lawson was a member of the Evangelical Church.

Obituary

Mrs. Marie Olephine [Olufine] Lawson was born November 20, 1883 in Norway to Even and Sonneva Olson. She was baptized as an infant in Norway and confirmed November 21, 1897 in Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church. She died at Lutheran hospital, Fort Dodge on Friday, November 18, 1966 after reaching the age of 82 years, 11 months and 28 days.

When only a few months old, she came, to America with her parents, and they settled in Eagle Grove. On October 23, 1933 [1923] she was married to Gilbert Lawson by Rev. T. J. Severtson.

Mr. Lawson died on May 5, 1953. With the exception of a few years they spent in Fort Dodge, she lived in Eagle Grove since coming to America. She was a long-time member of Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran church.

Those who mourn, her departure are a stepson, Coburn Lawson, Oshkosh, Wisconsin; a sister Selina [Salina], Mrs. C. A. Sorensen, Jamestown, North Dakota, 3 step-grandchildren, 4 step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, November 21 at 1:30 at Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran church, Rev. H. W. Schiller. Internment was at Rose Hill Cemetery.
