January 29, 1882 --- May 7, 1959

Funeral services for Alfred Pehl Sr. 77 of Clarion were held Saturday, May 9th at 2 p.m. at the Holmes Baptist church with the Rev. Phillip Halvorsen officiating.

Mr. Pehl died May 7th at the Clarion Hospital following a heart attack.

Pall bearers were Durwin [Derwin] Lester, Arne Anderson, Robert Jacobsen, Noal Riles, Ron Rasmussen and Bill Rose.

Burial was in the Clarion Evergreen cemetery.

The son of John Madison and Anna Marie Pehl, Alfred Pehl was born January 29, 1882 in Denmark.

He came to the United States as a young man.

He was married to Florence Pletcher in February, 1909.

During most of his life he farmed in Humboldt and Wright counties.

Since retiring Mr. Pehl has resided in Clarion.

Mrs. Pehl died Oct. 8, 1946. He is survived by two daughters and one son, Mrs. Julius Jacobson [Jacobsen] of Thor, Mrs. James Jorgensen of Clarion and Alfred Pehl Jr. of Stewartville, Minn., eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one sister Mrs. Martha Rasmussen of Glendale, Calif.
