Services for Melvin E. Brown, 80, of 524 Upton Ave., will be 10 a.m. Friday at Parrott and Wood Chapel with a 2 p.m. graveside service at Rosehlll Cemetery at Eagle Grove. Mr. Brown died Monday at his home.

He was born March in Davis County, son of George and Rose Andrews. He and his twin brother were adopted by Mr. and Mrs. E.H. Brown of Eagle Grove. He married Ruth Bige Aug. 27, 1927, at Nashua. She died in 1964. He had been employed by Jens Olesen Construction Co., Rath Packing Co. and for 28 years at the John Deere Tractor Works. He retired in 1965.

Survivors include two sons, Duane E. Brown of 203 Highland Drive, Cedar Falls, and Gaylord Brown of 3356 West a daughter, Mrs. Vineta McMahon of 429-Ray Mar Drive; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grand- children; and a sister, Mrs. Hazel Peterson of Laramie, Wyo.

Friends may call after 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to p.m. Thursday. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church.
